What Bharat Mandapam is
Bharat Mandapam opened in July 2023 on the site of the old Hall of Nations, as the centrepiece of ITPO's redevelopment of Pragati Maidan. It runs to roughly 390,000 square metres built up, with about 150,000 square metres of exhibition space across six halls, a convention hall seating around 7,000 in a single format, and an open amphitheatre for about 3,000.
Practically, that means two different kinds of job. A trade show in the exhibition halls is a stall build. A summit or launch in the convention block is closer to event production: staging, branding, and a set that has to look right on camera.
Building a stand here
The halls are new, the finishes are good, and the standard of the stands around you is higher than it was at old Pragati Maidan. A shell scheme in this building looks like a shell scheme. If you have taken space at Bharat Mandapam, the money is usually better spent on a custom stand than on a bigger plot with a plain one.
We build ours in wood, in our own workshop, and truck finished modules in. Backlit fascia, veneer and fluted panels, a closed meeting room, product walls. The pieces that make a stand read from the far end of an aisle are the pieces that take workshop hours, not site hours. Doing them on site is how stands end up unfinished.
Events in the convention block
For conferences, launches and award nights we handle the build side: stage and backdrop, entrance branding, registration counters, lounges and the lighting that makes the whole thing photograph properly. Same workshop, same crew.
Getting there
The Supreme Court metro station on the Blue Line sits right by Gate 10, which matters more than it sounds. On a heavy footfall day it decides which entrance your visitors actually use, and therefore which aisle you want to be on.

Custom wooden stands run roughly ₹1,400–2,400 per square foot of stall area before GST, so about ₹5.5–9.5 lakh for a 6×6m island stand, depending on whether it is single or double storey, the finish, and how much backlighting it carries.

Can you build a double-storey stand here?
Usually yes, but it needs structural drawings and the organiser's written approval, and the height allowance depends on your hall. Ask us before the concept stage rather than after. A mezzanine designed and then refused is an expensive redraw.
How long do you need on site?
Because we pre-assemble in the workshop and bring in finished modules, installation is bolting and levelling rather than building. That is what makes a tight organiser build-up window survivable.
Do you handle the organiser paperwork?
Yes. Stand drawings, structural details where a mezzanine is involved, and the submission to ITPO and the show organiser are part of the job.
