What a turnkey interior fit-out actually includes

Turnkey is the most abused word in Indian interiors. This is the scope we mean by it, and the items that are almost always someone else's.

What a turnkey interior fit-out actually includes

“Turnkey” should mean you hand over a shell and take back a finished, snag-free space. In practice the word gets used for everything from full project management to a carpenter with a van, so here is our scope in plain terms.

Included

  • Space planning, 3D concept and working drawings
  • All joinery — built in our own workshop, not subcontracted
  • Finishes: veneer, laminate, paint, stone and glass
  • False ceiling, cove and electrical coordination
  • Lighting design and installation
  • Site supervision, snag list and handover

Usually not included

  • Statutory approvals and mall or building fit-out charges
  • HVAC equipment itself, as opposed to coordinating it
  • Loose furniture and styling, unless quoted separately
  • GST

Ask any studio to mark those second six lines on their quote before you compare prices. Two quotes that look ₹4 lakh apart are often the same number with a different scope.
